Foreword

This article refers to a prerelease demonstration of this game. The version that is sold on Steam may differ.

Gameplay (2/5★)

Solve puzzles and beat baddies in turn-based combat! Each battle nets “lust points”, which are used to advance sexual content and deliver powerful magics. The goal of the game is to ascend the “Horny Tower”. You’ll need to solve a fist full of puzzles to unlock each floor. You can’t avoid enemies forever — by leveling up, you are able to acquire new skills and enhanced stats. Be on the look out for “gems” and “stones”; they can augment your weapons and armor with special effects!

Story (3/5★)

The Golden Tower has become subject to a vicious curse; now called the “Horny Tower”, all whom ascend are subject to death and sexual hedonism. A bounty has been placed on the removal of the curse. Trix, the bloody mercenary joins a crew of rival warriors as they enter a competition — winner takes all!

Visuals (2/5★)

The titlescreen looks alright. It’s a bit generic, but it does the job. From “Options”, you may adjust audio, control, display and gameplay preferences. I appreciate the ability to remap keys — most RPGMaker titles don’t have this option. “Wishlist It” will open a browser in-game, leading to game’s Steam store page. Kids, you probably shouldn’t enter your Steam credentials inside an RPGMaker game. A gallery can be accessed in-game, to review previously encountered sex-scenes. CGs are imposed over the game, rather than utilizing a background layer. Unfortunately, there is no way to effectively skip scenes or dialogue.

The Goods (2/5★)

There are three sex-scenes to see — remember, I played demo version of this game. During a two hour playthrough, I saw one sex-scene. The sexual content is rather bland. It is comprised single base CGs, with minor variations. The artwork isn’t bad, but it could be better. I didn’t find the dialogue or visual content to be arousing.

Verdict (2/5★)

Wait for balancing and quality of life updates. Trix and the Horny Tower? More like Trix and the Puzzle Tower! Puzzles are not necessarily bad, but I found the puzzles provided by this game to be extremely tedious. The amount of animations and backtracking you’re forced to endure is awful — if I was playing live, I would have been staring at my proverbial watch real condescendingly. Enemies aren’t well balanced. It’s not fun praying for “critical hits” — so many enemies heal every turn you’ll struggle to deal enough damage to pull through. If you didn’t invest into healing magic yourself, god rest your soul. I sincerely hope Trix and the Horny Tower is improved before release.
