Foreword
I originally published a review for HENTAI DANCE on February 13th, 2020. I have updated that review, to reflect my thoughts on this game as of September, 2020. If I remember correctly, when this game first released there wasn’t even nudity — talk about an epic fail for a “hentai” game.
Gameplay
Mash the correct keys in rapid succession while avoiding “bombs”. There are three difficulty settings to choose from, each with three levels. You can click on bombs or miss up to three arrows before reaching a “game over”. The bombs are the worse — the delayed controls force you to detonate bombs, even when you don’t click on them. Once I reached the “hard” levels, what little fun the game was abruptly ended.
Story
There is no story (and I’m not making one up.)
Visuals
The titlescreen is boring. From “Setting”, you can adjust an audio preference. To my knowledge, there is no way to window the application. The in-game visuals are a mash of generic assets. The animations are very poor, and the girl’s feet and hair regularly clip through the floor and her body.
Did anyone playtest this before release?
The Goods
The main protagonist is naked, and it’s. . . well it’s something. For a game with “hentai” in the name, there is a distinct lack of hentai. Instead we’re gifted with the worst waifu dance I’ve seen to date.
Verdict
I don’t recommend this game. The gameplay is monotonous, and the visuals blow. This is an inexpensive rhythm game and it shows. It’s not just a matter of poor gameplay, it’s the awful controls that ruin an already poor experience — it goes without saying, you should stay away from this title.
