Gameplay (1/5★)
Snipe oncoming soldiers until you’re machine-gunned down! In your hands is a sniper rifle — headshots are worth more than bodyshots. It’s shoot or get shooted-at (and there’s no pausing, so no snackie-breaks either!) Each kill will earn you “points”, which can be used to buy CGs from the gallery. The game ends when you run out of hit points.
Story (2/5★)
There is no story that is explained in-game. Let’s take a look at the store page: “You are playing as one of a few soldiers left, shooting the enemies from a hidden spot on the battleground.” The player character is some hairy dude, and his enemies near-nude (or nude with DLC) waifus. It’s man versus women (and man stands no chance). Hey, sounds like marriage!
Visuals (2/5★)
The titlescreen is almost awesome — it showcases an anti-air installation firing into a sky of fighter planes. It’s animated and totally dynamic (though a little graphically dull). The way planes get stuck in the ground really hammers home what to expect from this game. From “Option”, you may adjust a variety of audio, display and graphical preferences. You can also remap the directional keys (in case WASD controls don’t cut it for you). Unlocked CGs can be viewed from the “Gallery”, but they can’t be fullscreened (and the user-interface can’t be hidden).
The Goods (1/5★)
The base game does not contain nudity or adult content. There are five unlockable, static CGs which can be purchased after sniping foes. They are nothing special, but it’s pretty great to see this memeware breaking the mold with actual CGs.
H-SNIPER: World War II – Nudity DLC (18+) [DLC]
This DLC removes the clothes from the enemy soldiers and unlockable CGs in the gallery. The in-game nudity is bleh (but boobs are better than bikinis!) The nude gallery is little more worth the effort to unlock, but none of the CGs are remotely arousing.
Verdict (1.5/5★)
Not worth it. I’m sure H-SNIPER: World War II may be a laugh for some, but I didn’t find this game to be fun or funny. After playing a five or ten minute round, I was just about fed-up. The gameplay is buggy and monotonous, and the novelty wears off quickly. Unless you’re interested in having your name on the “Leaderboard”, there is no incentive to continue playing. If you are interested in highscores, don’t you think there are better games to hone your skill on?
