Gameplay: overview (3/5★)

Match pairs of matching traffic signs by turning-over face-down cards! There are nine levels to see, each of them harboring a lewd CG (provided the adult-patch is installed). There’s no “cheat” button, but it’s super-easy to cheese through each level — by rapidly clicking on all the cards, you’re able to turn-over more than two at a time! Using this method, I beat the game in about five or six minutes.

Sexual Content: overview (3/5★)

Provided the adult-patch is installed, there are nine static CGs. The artwork is high-quality, but I wouldn’t call any of it erotic. The gallery features an assortment of naked ladies, nothing more.

Story: overview (1/5★)

There is no story (and I’m not making one up!)

Sound: overview (3/5★)

The music ain’t half-bad! There’s a handful of rockin’ “synthwave” tracks. They could be longer, but I liked them.

Visuals: overview (4/5★)

The titlescreen is pretty dope! The lettering and animated background are dope! However, the main-menu forces you to guess what each button does (due to unclear, unlabeled icons). Audio and display preferences can be adjusted via the “three-bar” icon. In-game, the “three-bar” icon doubles as a gallery. Unfortunately, the user-interface can’t be hidden while viewing images (and you’re able to flip cards through the gallery screen). I loved the animated backgrounds and thematic card designs (but who’s the “Neko Police”?)

Verdict: too short, prolly should skip (3/5★)

I don’t think Anime Sunset Ride is a bad game, but it doesn’t offer enough gameplay or erotic content. As much as I enjoy the artistic style, I’m disappointed by the lack of sex-animation and backgrounds. I guess this game is worth a quarter, maybe two if it Steam Achievements were added. If you genuinely enjoy memory games, you’ll dig the snappy controls and pleasant aesthetic. However, memory enthusiasts won’t appreciate the overly easy stages. Frankly, I think I’d rather stay home than go on an “Anime Sunset Ride”.
