I received a free, copy of this game for review purposes — thanks MIP Games! Unfortunately, this game is no longer for sale. In a post titled “Stopping the sale of the game”, MIP Games wrote:
Hi guys, unfortunately, the sale of the game stops
The fact is that the characters from the clips are characters from the game Azur Lane.
Before the release of the game, we did not know this, we only found out about it now from your reviews about the game.
Therefore: we do not have any copyright on these characters, because of this we are stopping the sale of the game.
We are very sorry that this happened, we did not want this
MIP Games, you fucking idiots.
Gameplay: published August 22nd, 2021 (3/5★)
If you’re not a whiz at solving slider-puzzles, you better be ready to cheat with the “N” key: while they start easy with a measly nine tiles, they become considerably harder (or rather, more time-consuming) as they increase to sixty-four. Slider-puzzles are seemingly impossible if you don’t know how to solve them, but once you do they aren’t too bad. I recommend beginning from the top-most row, then the left-most column, and then rinse and repeat. If you’re unsure where any tiles go, you’re able to view the finished image at anytime via the eye icon (on the bottom-right). It’d take the average person hours to beat this game legitimately, but it’s easy to rack up completion-based achievements by spamming “N”. There is no level-select screen; already-completed puzzles cannot be revisited.
Sexual Content: published August 22nd, 2021 (4/5★)
With over sixty animated CGs, there are a wide variety of sexual imagery to behold! Not all of the CGs offer sex-scenes, but most of ’em do! The CGs are like miniature films — they are are fully voiced, and a variety of camera-effects keep them interesting. The artwork is very high-quality, and the animation ain’t too bad. I saw a few spotty movements, but for the most part it’s fappable.
Story: published August 22nd, 2021 (1/5★)
There is no story (and I’m not making one up!) However, MIP Games admitted “characters from the clips are characters from the game Azur Lane.” If you’re familiar with Azur Lane, you may have a better idea of the cast’s backstory and personality.
Sound: published August 22nd, 2021 (3/5★)
The music is what I’d expect from a cheap puzzle game: it’s a collection of slow paced, stock music fit to play while you’re on “hold”. It’s not that bad, but I found it repetitive. After about ten minutes, I felt the need to mute the music. I can’t vouch for the quality of voice acting (because I don’t understand Japanese), but I enjoyed the audio associated with each of the animated sex-scenes.
Visuals: published August 22nd, 2021 (2/5★)
The titlescreen doesn’t look bad, but it strikes me as an uninspired template. The least MIP Games could have done was overlay a lewd CG to suggest “adult game”. From “Settings”, you may adjust audio and display preferences. Unlocked CGs can be viewed from the “Gallery”, but the user-interface can’t be hidden. Unfortunately, the CGs are rendered in a wide variety of aspect-ratios, providing an inconsistent experience throughout the game. Many CGs have decorative animations that ought to be toggleable — such as a zooming or panning view. I don’t think the artwork is high enough resolution to justify either effect.
Verdict: published August 22nd, 2021 (2.5/5★)
It’s a shame this game was delisted from Steam, because it’s not half-bad (for what it is). Hentai World: Animated Puzzle offers quite a bit content for enthusiasts of slider-puzzles and hentai alike. However, I think MIP Games should have made a swippy-swappy or jigsaw puzzle game instead, because slider-puzzles are stupid. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: if you don’t know how to solve them, you’ll have to cheat (and if you do, you’ll probably cheat anyways because they’re not fun.) Unfortunately, MIP Games chose a selection of artwork featuring copyrighted characters, forcing them to stop selling this game. Maybe next time they’ll commission their artwork — or I dunno, do some research before they lift somebody’s gallery?
