Foreword

I originally published a review for Foto Babes on May 14th, 2019. I have updated that review, to reflect my thoughts on this game as of September, 2020. Fun fact: Foto Babes is the first game that I ever reviewed. At the time I played this game, I was oblivious to cash grabs and memeware. Nowadays, I’ve become somewhat jaded towards these kinds of games.

Gameplay

Find waifus, spam photos and memorize stages to optimize time. Armed with a camera, the goal of each stage is to photograph all of waifus in each level. Time is limited, but your camera is one of a kind — it has infinite battery, buffer, storage, and (seemingly) x-ray capabilities! You don’t even after to see the girls you’re photographing (and you still get credit!)

Story

There is no story (and I’m not making one up).

Visuals

The titlescreen looks okay. I appreciate the placement of the “Quit” button on the waifu’s bosom. You can read up on the characters in “The Babes” — if there’s one thing Foto Babes deserves credit for, it’s having actual characters (even if they are just a name and a sentence.) From “Options”, you can adjust audio, display, and graphical preferences. The in-game visuals are an assortment of premade assets, but they mesh together well.

Verdict

I don’t recommend this game, and I have no faith in the developers. I played this game a year ago and there are still no publicized bug fixes or updates. Foto Babes is a piece of unfinished memeware that shouldn’t have hit the store shelves. Then again, what else can you expect from a team called DRUNKEN APES?

Wombat Woe — Mission 20
In the “Jungle” area, the last mission cannot be completed. No matter what I tried, I could only finish 19 out of 20 total missions. Fortunately, I was still able to unlock every Steam achievement.
