Foreword
I originally published a review for Just Chatting on February 13th, 2019. I have updated that review, to reflect my thoughts on this game as of September, 2020.
Gameplay
Reach the other end of each screen by avoiding obstacles (or face a softlock). Sometimes, you will encounter NPCs. By interacting with them, you gain an “average” with them. Once our average reaches one-hundred, the next time you meet them they’ll be naked. You can only interact with people once per playthrough, so expect to see the same stages at least five times before seeing some goodies. As each screen is constantly filled with objects, you’re going to end up in unbeatable situations — when that happens, you can reset the stage with the “r” key.
Story
You play as a women who’s trying to increase her socializing skills. She’s stuck in some horrible world, where furniture rains from the sky non-stop. How no one is killed is anyone’s guess, but my vote is that she’s dreaming. That’s. . . the best I could piece together with what I had.
Visuals
The interface is awful. The titlescreen and pause menu give you two options, to play or quit the application. The user-interface that crops up during dialogue is serviceable, but it only shows up for one character in the game. Everyone else’s dialogue is displayed with a basic text box. The characters look good, about as good as any pre-made Daz Studio assets. Nothing is animated, and everything sort of acts like paper cutouts. Your avatar is dragged across the screen, and new clothes are sort of “sticked-on” to you as you find them.
The Goods
There’s some okay 3D nudity, and that’s about it.
Verdict
Don’t bother with this game, even if it is free. Save your bandwidth, read/write cycles and/or don’t risk a virus. Pretend this game doesn’t exist, and you will live a happy and fulfilling life.
