Foreword

I was excited to see some steamy content with the unique art style this game has to offer; I would be disappointing by not only the lack of CGs, but also by poor writing.

Gameplay

. . . in a nutshell

Read my article on visual novels.

out the shell. . .

A basic visual novel with only two player choices; smash through text boxes until you reach an ending.

. . . but yes, this is a game you can play one handed.

Story

. . . in a nutshell

Rozalin has two weeks to live, or find a cure to her “Rose Curse”. She and her friends Andrea and Anali are both interested in her companionship, but the three schoolgirls are more than what meets the eye. Adding the mystery, a boy in Rozalin’s class has a message to deliver to her, but only after two weeks have passed. The four students are all connected in a plot involving love and magic.

out the shell. . .

Rozalin recieves a message from a boy who’s infatuated with her. This boy, Bastian has never expressed interested in her before; bewildered by his note, she spends the class thinking about him.

Rozalin then experiences a heart-attack and hits the floor.

Luckily, she’s fine. Bastian comes to speak with her. He decides that he needs to wait two weeks before saying what he needs to say to her; after she agrees, Bastian leaves the room. She is then confronted by Andrea, a new student in her class. She complains about Bastian staring her down, though she insists that Rozalin does not bring up the matter with him.

Then Rozalin faints and hits the floor. . . again.

Anali explains that Rozalin has a “weak body”, and that when they were young she used to faint every three days. The issue had stopped recently, but she’s unsure why it has returned. She also explains that she has an explainable rose-marking on her private area (for reasons I don’t recall). This is relevant because Andrea recognizes Rozalin’s symptoms as those of the “Rose Curse”.

Apparently, she’s to die in two weeks’ time.

She’s understandably shaken by the news, and asks Andrea for a “cure” for her curse. She is unaware of any cure, but the next day she returns with what she thinks is the cure (based on her mother’s diary); to save Rozalin’s life, they need to find a special fruit. Before the day ends, Rozalin finds a note in her bag. It comes from a mysterious woman, who arranges a meeting during the night.

She explains the origin of the curse.

To my understanding, Rozalin is actually magical, and she has the power to create life. She is connected to Andrea, a woman with the power to destroy life. As their powers are developing at different rates, it is the reason why she is dieing. The mysterious woman hands Rozalin a dead seed of the fruit she seeks; if she can use her magic to revive it, she might be able to live. The woman parts ways, and Anali barges into the room and presses Rozalin against the wall — she intends on a mean make-out session.

And that’s where the story enters the player’s hands — that is, to kiss, or not to kiss Anali.

Visuals

The titlescreen is promising. From “Settings”, you may adjust a variety of audio, dialogue and display preferences. While there is a “Gallery”, it appears to be dysfunctional; after completing the game and witnessing two CGs, the Gallery remained empty.

The fourth text box in the game has a typo. How, how was this not caught during testing? Actually, there are quite a bit of typos in the dialogue. The letter “i” is regularly uncapitalized when it should be. The character Bastian is referred to as both a “he” and a “she”. The writing overall felt unnatural, and I had a hard time understanding what everyone was saying. There are so many typos, I think it’s unacceptable; someone should have proofread the game.

The Goods

I didn’t spot any sexual content in this game. There was kissing; but that’s hardly saucy.

. . . expect female-on-female romance.

Verdict

Given the flaws to this game, I recommend waiting for an update or two. The writing was difficult to comprehend, and I wasn’t fond of the story’s pacing. I think this is passionate, wholesome, story between three lady-lovers. However, this visual novel falls short of my expectations, but I think it’s worth a read if (A) you can read past poor English and (B) you aren’t looking for sexual content (as the Store Tags might lead you to believe).
