Gameplay

Flip, rotate and swap assorted puzzle pieces to recreate an image. The number of pieces in each puzzle will increase tremendously, and in later stages you will have to rotate portions of the playing board itself. At your disposal are a variety of abilities, which can aquired using experience that gained with each finished puzzle. Following each puzzle is a visual novel portion, where your response(s) will affect the item that you gain. Items grant small bonuses, which will grow as you bolster your inventory.

Story

You’re the new guy in town, and for whatever reason, all the neko ladies are drawn to you! Not only that, but no matter what you say, you can bet your pants that it’ll be their that’ll come off first!

Visuals

The titlescreen and menu look good (albeit plain). You can choose your preferred language from the “Language” button. Audio, display and gameplay preferences can be adjusted from “Settings”. You can purchase DLC from the “Clips DLC” option. A gallery can be accessed in-game, and it is specific to each save game. The user-interface is stylistic and generally refined.

The Goods

There are eight animated, base CGs to unlock, or about forty total CGs. Each of four characters has one or more nude CGs, and a single sexual CG dipicting male-on-female intercourse. The artwork is great, but it is rendered in a portrait-styled aspect ratio (preventing any of it from being properly fullscreened in a 16:9 screen).

Verdict

I recommend this game. I’m disappointed that the CGs are unable to be fullscreened, due to their portrait-like rendition. However, the animation and cool mechanics are delight. Most puzzle games don’t bother to separate themselves from the competition, and seldom give a reason to play more than once. Neko Waifus 3 is a welcome change from a stale genre, and well worth the price tag.
