Hentai Possess-Her Review [Archive June 12 2022]

Table of Contents

Hentai Possess-Her is an infinite runner about an unnamed “demon servant” that possesses women.

Adult Content

(FxF) Sexual content.

Censorship

No. Woot! Woot!

Adult Patch

Unnecessary.

Playtime

One hour.

Chapter One: Introduction

I received a free copy of this software from the developer for review purpose — “thanks” GreatherGames.

Chapter Two: Gameplay (3/5★)

Section One: Overview

Hentai Possess-Her is like a slower-paced version of the “Dinosaur Game” you can play whenever Google Chrome decides you have “no connection”. You control an unnamed succubus who can’t stop running — your job is to make sure she doesn’t run into any obstacles with one (or two) carefully timed jumps.

Section Two: Balancing

Maybe I just suck, but it felt as though my character would hit objects when I felt she shouldn’t have. I think her collision box is slightly larger than her actual sprite.

Chapter Three: Sexual Content (3/5★)

Section One: Content

You’d think the playable character would participate in most, if not all sex-scenes, but she’s only shown naked on the title screen. You’d also think the sex-scenes would focus on femdom or hypnosis, but they don’t showcase any particular fetishes. Only a handful of CGs actually show sexual content, offering masturbation and a single image of lesbian cunningalus. I counted a total of twelve static images.

Section Two: Implementation

As you complete levels, increasingly naked women are shown on the bottom left of the screen. After jumping over a sufficient number of obstacles, they will “Orgasm” — unlocking each of their respective CGs via the “Gallery”.

Section Three: Interactivity

The sexual content doesn’t offer any user interactivity.

Section Four: Quality

The artwork is decent, but far from professional. The coloring, shading and proportions fall short. In most CGs, the subject is obviously imposed on a backdrop. It’s as if the women are seated in front of a green screen. Little effort is made to show interesting perspectives — a mark of amateur art is an inability to draw outside of 90 degree angles.

Chapter Four: Story (1/5★)

Without reading the store page, it’s difficult to ascertain what little “story” Hentai Possess-Her offers.

GreatherGames writes, “Possess girls and watch them lose control with the help of your sexy demon servant. “

If my “sexy demon servant” isn’t the main protagonist, who is it? Me?

The “demon servant” is never shown “possessing” girls — she is only shown running in what appears to be a bloody wasteland. The artwork doesn’t add anything to the playable character or themes of possession.

The “girls” could be replaced with anything else and the “story” would be unchanged.

Chapter Five: Sound (4/5★)

Section I: Soundtrack

The soundtrack is badass! Each level has its own music, allowing players to choose their favorite when pursuing high scores. It gets you pumped with fast paced action, like blasting robots out of the air. . . or jumping over boxes I guess.

Section II: Sound Effects

The user-interface is oddly quiet. Now that I think about it, I don’t remember any sound effects in the game beyond voice acting.

Section III: Voice Acting

I enjoyed the conversational dialogue which plays throughout each level. It makes the playable character and her supposed victims more interesting — but it can be annoying hearing it on repeat. The dialogue always plays in the same order, and it’s unskippable.

Chapter Six: Visuals (3/5★)

Section I: User Interface

The sexy on the title-screen isn’t only there for show, she greets you upon booting the application! It’d be nice if she had more than one voice line, but it’s a nice touch. Naturally, I clicked on her breasts to see if she would say anything — unfortunately, she isn’t interactive. From the “Options” menu, audio preferences may be adjusted. There are no options to configure display or control configurations.

Section Two: Graphics

The sprites of Hentai Possess-Her look like they were drawn by a child — with Microsoft Paint. The playable character is decently drawn and animated, but I don’t get the overarching aesthetic. Why are the levels so edgy, with blood smeared spikes and steel crates? Considering the “story”, wouldn’t it make more sense to have aesthetics based on the unlockable artwork? Like a beach or a comically long church congregation?

The sprites are stylistically consistent, but the scaling between them varies. Compare the playable character to any obstacle, or even the background — do you notice how she’s uncharacteristically detailed compared to her otherwise blocky surroundings?

Chapter Seven: Verdict (3/5★)

Hentai Possess-Her is a fun little game for lunch — or in my case, dinner. The characters and sexual content leave a lot to be desired, but boobs are a worthwhile addition to any game. If you’re only interested in achievements or adult content, they don’t take more than twenty or thirty minutes to unlock. You’ll find more enjoyment from this title if you enjoy competitive play, especially among friends by taking advantage of the “Leaderboards”. Can you beat my score, 104?

Epilogue: Recommendations

Gameplay

Add configurable keys, or at least keyboard support.

Add a “retry” button so players don’t have to navigate the main-menu every time they die.

Add pause functionality. What if I need to pee?

Add more obstacles. Boxes get old.

Consider adding “power-ups” — maybe temporary flight or invincibility?

Consider adding a “hard mode” for experienced players or beating high scores.

Sexual Content

Add proper backgrounds to CGs.

Story

Add some form of exposition — maybe a cutscene or voiced lines. I shouldn’t have to read the store page to get an idea about what I’m playing.

Sound

Add sound effects to the user-interface.

Add sound effects to jumping. Perhaps, the sounds of whooshing air or assorted grunts.

Add more “game over” dialogue. As I learned the timing for jumps, I died again and again — it’s grating to hear the same sentence every time I failed.

Visuals

Add a “mute” button if the sliders in the “Options” menu won’t cancel all sound from the application. I shouldn’t have to use Windows Volume Mixer to revoke sound privileges from your game.

Find a better artist to design your sprites next time.
