Gameplay (3/5★)
Collect stars and jump on platforms! There are three waifus to choose from, each representing two levels. Each level is randomly generated, meaning every playthrough will be a little different. The goal is to collect enough stars to advance — but you’ll have to carefully manage your hit-points and energy along the way. As the game becomes increasingly difficult, you’ll have to dodge projectiles from every direction. Energy is used to glide or double jump (but I found the latter only worked when it felt like it). Every two levels you’ll earn sex-scenes — woot! Once you’ve beaten every level, you’ll unlock “Endless Mode”.
Story (2/5★)
The game revolves around a grey-haired man (whom I’ll call “Grasshole”, a combination of the words “gray” and “asshole”). Grasshole likes running around the wilderness (by himself). Along the way he meets three friendly women. They are thoroughly impressed by Grasshole’s ballsiness — so impressed they want his balls! But they aren’t gonna hand over the cooch so easily; he’ll have to chase each of them through a pit of death! Women, am I right?
Visuals (3/5★)
The titlescreen looks pretty good — nothin’ like a half-naked succubus to beckon you! Audio, display and language preferences can be adjusted from the “Option” menu. Unlocked CGs can be viewed from “Book”, but they cannot be fullscreened. If you enjoy the music Sweet Dungeon has to offer, you may use the in-built player (called “Music”) from the main-menu. I found the game and user-interface to be rather amateurish in appearance.
The Goods (4/5★)
The base game offers three heavily censored (static) CGs. Anything remotely sexual is plastered with cat stickers.
Sweet Dungeon – DLC [DLC]
This DLC unlocks all adult-content (and removes censorship). Each (female) character has three animated, mildly interactive CGs. In total, there’s nine scenes to see. Each CG has two variations for undress and climax. As each animation plays, an “orgasm gauge” will automatically fill. When it caps, you may play the climax — and then repeat the animation (if desired). The sex-scenes are very high-quality (and definitely where the budget went!)
Verdict (3/5★)
Wait for a sale. Sweet Dungeon is a okay platformer with decent artwork. The gameplay is rough and short lived. The reason why it took me so long to get to this title was because of a visual bug I experienced when it released (causing the screen to turn black). I decided to reboot the game (for shits and giggles) and lo and behold — they’re all gone! It was great finally playing this game, but to be honest. . . I wasn’t missing out. Sweet Dungeon needs some refinement, but it’s a good for quickie!
Wombat Woe — You’re gonna fuck! [March 10th 2021]
After completing a girl’s levels, you have the option to “end level” or play her respective sex-scene. If you choose the former, the next girl will not be unlocked, and the current girl will not be accessible from the gallery. “end level” is functionally a reset button (when I thought it was meant to skip the sex and go straight to the next level).
