Gameplay
. . . in a nutshell
It’s like a horror game, minus the horror, with sex scenes, minus the sexy.
out the shell. . .
You explore a desolate town and find interactive NPCs. . . and that’s about all there is to it. NPCs come packed with sex scenes, which come with little interactivity. If smashing the mouse button sounds like a good time to you. . . well, there’s probably better games for that. The game regularly soft locked when I paused. . . so I made sure not to pause unless I really needed to. I didn’t encounter any time sensitive situations, so I doubt you actually need to pause (unless you need to adjust user preferences).
Story
Anna is on her way to Dailand, a dingy city in the middle of nowhere. She’s searching for her sister, Victoria, whom went missing while job hunting. Victoria hasn’t called or texted since she arrived at Dailand, and Anna’s worried. During her search for her sister, Anna winds up servicing the locals — and who she helps during her adventure sits in the player’s hands.
Visuals
The title-menu and user-interface was consistent and stylistically appropriate. In the “Dressing Room”, you can switch Anna’s in-game outfit using a variety of presets. From “Settings”, graphical preferences can be adjusted — but audio and display options are unavailable. That means if you want to mute the application, you’ll have to do so externally. You can review how to play the game from “Controls”, but you can’t remap the keys.
You’d think this is a horror game.
Everything is shrouded in fog, the textures dark and dreary. Your vision is often limited to distant light fixtures or your (crappy) flashlight. The game is played from Anna’s viewpoint, the camera placed where her head would be — causing the camera to shake wildly, and allowing you to see Anna’s body when you look down. While I don’t personally mind this camera angle, most people will probably find it disorienting. When you find characters, they just of lie and wait — in some cases, without so much as breathing. When engaging with them (in sexual intercourse), you’d think they are. . . dead.
Actually, I think this is a horror game.
The Goods
The sex scenes are animated, but the animations are stiff and actors seemingly dead. I was genuinely off put by the animations. I’m not sure who’d find them arousing. The characters were between poor and okay, but lack of meaningful development or context makes the sex scenes no better than a Google search.
. . . expect female-on-female intercourse.
Verdict
Given the bugs and visuals, I don’t recommend this game. I would wait for significant development. It’s a shame, for I was excited to give this title a whirl. But I think that it needed more time behind the curtains.
