Foreword
I originally published a review for H Chan on July 6th, 2019. I have updated that review, to reflect my thoughts on this game as of September, 2020. When I first reviewed this game, I held a positive opinion regarding this title. Now that I’ve gained more exposure to similar titles, I’ve found H Chan to be grossly underwhelming.
Gameplay
Pick a pose and an outfit, and enjoy an erotic lady on your desktop. H Chan is a well below-average desktop pet, with virtually no interactivity (other than dragging her around the screen.) But hey, she’s definitely eye candy!
. . . yes, this is a game you can play one-handed!
Story
There is no story (and I’m not making one up).
Visuals
There is no titlescreen, but a menu can be accessed by right-clicking on the pet. You can mute/unmute the audio, and you can adjust the size and position of the pet.
The Goods
There are eight, animated positions that H Chan can assume. In addition, each position comes with a small selection of clothing presets (or you can just have her go nude). To remove the censorship, you only have to delete the appropriate file from the install directory. The animation is not impressive, but the artwork is okay. I would have liked to seen significantly more interactivity.
Verdict
Considering the functionality of now-available, lewd desktop pets, I cannot recommend H Chan. This application has nothing to offer that others don’t already provide. H Chan is basically a fancy image viewer (that uses up a ton of system resources). Despite the price tag, there are much, much better desktop pets for the same amount (or just a dollar more).
