Gameplay: overview (2/5★)

Cut fruits and don’t cut bombs to “cut away” clothes! The goal of each level is to cut roughly one-hundred fruits. Sometimes, I didn’t have to cut as many — I’m not sure how to gain more “points” per cut. If you cut more than two bombs, you lose (and you’ll have to restart!) Honestly, the gameplay is pretty monotonous. It’s difficult slogging through all ten ladies.

Sexual Content: overview (4/5★)

I love the artwork! I thought each lady was going to be an anthropomorphic fruit (but as it turns out, they’re just normal ladies with fauna covering their lady bits). There’s ten static CGs total. When beginning a level, each girl is fully clothed — as you rack up points, their clothes will disappear piece-by-piece! I wish the CGs were animated (and better synced to gameplay). Here’s an idea Cyber Keks: what if each piece of fruit coincided to a sexual act (such as a thrust), culminating to one or more climaxes (and ultimately completing the level!) Of course, the artwork would have to be animated (but it’d make the game a whole lot better).

Story: overview (1/5★)

There is no story (and I’m not making one up!)

Sound: overview (2/5★)

Cyber Keks promises “Funny music will not make you bored!” It’s. . . actually not bad. I listened to it while writing this review! It’s cutesy, lighthearted, and upbeat. Unfortunately, it’s also super repetitive. There’s only a few tracks, and the one you’ll hear the most is but a short loop. I was surprised not to hear sound effects — I thought I was going to be treated to satisfying slicing sounds as I played the game. If you turn off the music, you’ll be treated to the wonderful sounds of dead silence.

Visuals: overview (2/5★)

The titlescreen looks awful. I don’t think Cyber Keks was even trying. Audio can be adjusted from “Settings”. Unlocked CGs can be viewed from the “Gallery”. I don’t know if I did something wrong, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to view anything but the first image. The user-interface can’t be hidden, and you’re not allowed to view any variations of any CGs (namely clothes). I’m sure Cyber Keks will address this problem after reading this review. Until then, keep an eye out for applicable updates. Between the sexual content and gameplay, STRIPING FRUITS feels stock. There’s a discord between the artwork and 3D graphics.

Verdict: wait for DLC (1.5/5★)

This isn’t a very fun game; it gets boring after the first five or ten minutes. I should stop buying games from Cyber Keks. I’ve written about their games time and time again, and they never seem to learn from their mistakes. I took a chance with STRIPING FRUITS. On the bright side, this probably one of Cyber Keks‘ best games! Unfortunately, it’s mediocre at best. The only redeeming quality of this game is its artwork. It’s for this reason I recommend waiting for some form of DLC that releases the gallery in the form of high-definition photo files (such as PNGs or JPGs). Then again, if you’re buying a game strictly for artwork, you might as well go watch porn instead.
