Gameplay
Match pairs of fruit in a race against time. The goal of the game is to eliminate all fruits within a time limit. Adjacent or uninterrupted, like-fruits can be matched and removed from the board. Each pair nets two additional seconds, but you’ll probably need every second; I typically had about thirty-seconds on the clock after completing a level with flying colors. After completing a level, you’ll unlock a CG in the gallery! It’d be nice if there was a difficulty setting or a “cheat button”, for those of us that gotta fap on a schedule, you know?
Story
There is no story (and I’m not making one up).
Visuals
The titlescreen is boring, but the user-interface is alright. From “Options”, you may adjust audio, display and language preferences. To borderless-fullscreen the application, you’ll need to do so using system hotkeys (such as “alt” plus “enter”). CGs can be checked-out from the “Gallery”, and the user-interface can be hidden via the “F11” key. I didn’t understand the fruit aesthetic — considering much the CGs seemed to have a beach theme, where do the blurry fruit fit in?
The Goods
There’s no nudity! I purchased this game under the pretense there’d be “nudity”, “hentai”, and “sexual content” (based on the way this game was tagged.) Unfortunately, even after installing this patch there’s none of that. However, there are ten animated CGs to see, each with a bikini-clad waifu against a beach-themed backdrop. Their tiddies are animated (and that’s what matters in life right guys?)
Seriously — why bother with in-store censorship if there’s nothing to censor?
Verdict
Wait for a sale or actual hentai. If you want a fast-paced time-killer, Sweet Honey isn’t a bad game. It’s an easy game that’ll keep you on your toes for a few minutes at a time. This is the sort of game that’d work great for a mobile game (or a touch-screen PC), but with a mouse and keyboard it’s. . . eh. The lewd content leaves a lot to be desired, and I would have liked to have seen at least nudity. With an update or two, Sweet Honey might be an okay buy!
