Gameplay (2/5★)
Pick two characters and make ’em bang! There’s a wide selection of premade (but also customizable) characters to choose from, both male and female — DoHots is all about straight sex, so you’ll have to choose one of each! Once you’ve picked your cast and set, it’s time to sex! There’s a ton of sexual animations to partake in, each with a number of variants that can be almost seamlessly transitioned into. There’s a “partner joy” meter, but I haven’t a clue what it does (or how to increase it). There’s a somewhat interactive, faux chat box in the lower-left corner of the screen. You’re able to ask questions from a drop-down menu (and it seems to offers clues on which sexual positions to choose from to increase “partner joy”).

There is no titlescreen — it’s right to character-select! The user-interface is a confusing mess. It’s needlessly complicated to customize characters and navigate the game. For example, there’s no “undo” button, and there’s no easy way toggle individual articles of clothing. Sometimes the “Exit” button closes the application, and other times it serves as a “back” button. From “Sound”, you may choose between music tracks or adjust audio preferences. There doesn’t seem to be a way to adjust display or graphical preferences. Most of the user-interface can be hidden in-game, but the chat box is always exposed. It’d be nice if there was a way to quickly hide the UI. The models and environments are unvaried, uninspired, and overall below-average. Everybody looks samey, and I was able to spot quite a bit of visual errors (such as clipping, blocky textures and floating objects).
The ‘Goods’ (2/5★)
There are eight base “sex positions”, with upwards of fifteen variants for increased variety. You’re able to switch between to variants with little to no disruption in animation, granting a more “immersive” experience. You may “squirt” at will, but I’m unsure if there’s a functional “orgasm” or “climax” system. Sex positions are automatically progressed based on the chat box, though you can switch between them at any time. The animations are decent, thought the animation loops are a bit short. I found the models to be a little uncanny, and in most cases outright ugly. I wish there were more models in the “manga” style, which seemed to be the most uh, “useable” material.
Verdict (2/5★)
Wait for updates. DoHots needs a lot of love before it’ll be a worthwhile buy. It boasts an ambitious set of sexual animations and functionality, but the visuals and gameplay are short of “acceptable”. As DoHots lacks traditional gameplay or even basic story, it’s sole purpose is fap material — which means it’s doubly important to have strong visuals and robust customization (neither of which this game has). DoHots simply isn’t good enough, especially for the asking price. However, I love the foundation this game represents, and I hope it sees continued development and general refinement.
