Gameplay (4/5★)
Pick a character and fight your way through dungeons! Each girl has a unique starting ability, and a suite of new abilities that can be unlocked by defeating bosses. If you die, you lose everything. Combat is turn-based and not unlike a puzzle game; your weapons can only deal limited damage before breaking, and every turn counts. Everything moves when you move; spike traps rotate; enemies draw closer; unclaimed gold turns to monsters; and the dungeon itself may cause mayhem! There are a variety of environments, which come with their own enemies and gimmicks (such as falling rocks!)
Story (1/5★)
There is no story (and I’m not making one up!)
Visuals (4/5★)
The titlescreen and user-interface look great! Save for the protagonists, I recognize the assets and general UI from at least one other game. The character-select screen could be improved; you don’t know what they can do until you start a new game. There’s plenty of room to show-off their abiltiies and starting gear! From “Options”, you may adjust audio, display and language preferences. The English could use some work — I spotted a spelling error before starting the game.
The Goods (1/5★)
I’m pretty sure there is no nudity or adult content in this game. It’s a shame, every protagonist has a rockin’ pair of tits! There totally should be a damage-based “strip” mechanic!
Verdict (2.5/5★)
I would recommend this game, but it’s no longer for sale. I’m not sure why the developer decided to pull this title. It’s not a bad game. It’s a difficult RNG fest, but it definitely has replayability. I’m sure with a few updates here and there, Dungeon Maze could have been a swell game. When I bought this game, I think I wanted to mod it to include bare breasts — if it had bare breasts to begin with, I’m sure it would have sold better. I am writing this review simply to dust this game from my Steam Library. . . just as the developers have dusted this game from the Steam Store.
