Foreword

Attention!

This article is pending review. It is either incomplete, out-of-date, or I feel the need to disclaim my shame for a something I’m not proud of.

Gameplay

. . . in a nutshell

I need to make some revisions.

out the shell. . .

Consider this game to be sort of a “choose your own adventure” game. It’s mostly reading, with the occasional prompt to decide what you want to do. Depending on your actions, you can unlock different scenes and content. These choices do offer some replay value, or you can see most (if not all) additional content by saving and loading.

– How to Play –
The button you’ll be pressing the most is the “Enter” key or left-mouse button. But if you want to get through gobs of text stupid fast, hold down the “CTRL” key. If you want to hide the user interface, hit the “space” key.

Story

Before the story begins, you must enter a name for the protagonist. I chose Wombatta. Wombatta is just getting by, living paycheck to paycheck. Fearing that they’ll never find a spouse, Wombatta’s parents have arranged a marriage for them. During that night, a succubus (named Lovelia) visits Wombatta. She pulls their pants down, and it was at this moment that I realized. . .

Wombatta is actually a man.

Gee, no wonder Wombatta can’t find a girlfriend. Anywho, the succubus lives on a thing called “technoforce”, a subject she dances around (but never explicitly defines). She’s on a mission to extract a man’s technoforce, before returning from whence she came. Problem being, she’s ridicilously shy around men. She doesn’t trust them one bit, but Wombatta is. . . different. She’s willing to take a chance with him, and she offers what little trust she has left.

This can’t go wrong at all.

Visuals

The backgrounds look very high quality. Sometimes, as read the text they will pan around. Though the backgrounds are static, this simple animation makes locations feel just a little bit more alive. There isn’t a whole lot of places to see though. You’ll end up seeing two towns, two homes, a workplace, and a few transition backgrounds. Although, it’s more than a lot of virtual novels I have played.

I was very impressed by the character portraits. They appear to be 3D characters, and very animated. I found Lovelia’s reactions as I clicked through the text to be delightful. It’s unfortunate that she was the only character model in the game, as I would have liked to have seen the (handful of) other characters rendered as well. She made the slog which is reading not as bad.

Now, let’s talk about the full art scenes, or “CGs”. They are really something. High budget, beautifully drawn and very sensual. Expect to see borderline nipple slips, and lots and lots of soft, plushy skin. Don’t expect any form of nudity of explicit sexual content though. It’s a shame, as I imagine it too would have been exceptional.

The Goods

Verdict

This is a sweet (though sour-ending) tale with good visuals. It’s really a slice of life, if a coy succubus suddenly joined in. Take this story light heartedly, and I’m sure you’ll have a good time. I don’t think it’s worth as much as it is (given the playtime) at thirteen USD, but keep this game on Wishlist.

You’ll want to pick it up.
