Foreword

I received a free copy of this game for review purposes — thanks Hentai Atolyesi!

Gameplay (2/5★)

Dodge projectiles and wait patiently! The goal of each level is to collect hearts to illuminate portions of the stage; by hovering over these “light zones”, the image beneath will be slowly revealed. You’re costly under fire, so you’ll have to play deliberately. You may choose one of three abilities to aid in your missions; these include dashes, temporary invincibility, and the ability to slow time. Once you’ll fully illuminated any stage, you’ll unlock a new CG for the gallery!

Story (1/5★)

There is no story (and I’m not making one up!)

Visuals (4/5★)

The titlescreen and user-interface are stylish! Audio, display, language and graphical preferences can be adjusted from “Settings”. Unlocked CGs can be viewed from the “Gallery”, without the user-interface or in-game vignette effect.

The Goods (3/5★)

There are eleven static CGs to unlock. The artwork is high-quality, but it’s unfortunate that the good stuff is censored. There isn’t any sexual content, just mild erotica with an assortment of waifus.

Verdict (2.5/5★)

If you’re bored out of your mind, maybe this game is worth a try? Waifu Breaker isn’t terrible, but the gameplay is rather boring. It’s kind of fun to dodge projectiles, but it’s not fun to sit in one place (and still dodge projectiles). Waifu Breaker is like a shoot-’em-up if you weren’t allowed to shoot — it’ll keep you on your toes, but you’re pretty much helpless. You’re able to use an infinate health cheat (allowing to to completely ignore projectiles), but that just makes the game even more boring. Hadn’t I decided to update my review for this game, I would have completely forgotten it existed. I wouldn’t mind forgetting again.
