Chapter One: Introduction
Naked Story is a lewd minesweeper game available on Steam.
To experience the complete game with adult content, the “Auxiliary Patch” must be installed from WhiteCute’s website. This article will strictly discuss the patched game.
Chapter Two: Gameplay (4/5★)
Section One: Overview
if you’re familiar with Minesweeper, you’re familiar with this game. I’m not familiar with Minesweeper, however — so take my understanding of the game with a grain a salt.
You’re probably better off reading an article on Wikihow or something. . .
The goal of Minesweeper to identify “bombs”. However, turning over a “panel” with a bomb results in lost life — the idea is to take advantage of numbered panels to approximate, and ultimately, pinpoint the location of bombs.
Turning over a “safe” panel clears all contiguous panels without bombs. Panels that are adjacent to one or more bombs are numbered; by combining this information and comparing known bombs, it’s possible to guess additional “safe” panels with reasonable accuracy. When all safe panels have been turned over, the game is won.
There are three difficulty settings to accommodate players of varying skill levels. Increasing the difficulty level dramatically increases the number of bombs. You’re permitted up to three fuck-ups; upon triggering the fourth bomb, you must restart.
Chapter Three: Sexual Content (4/5★)
Section One: Content
There are fourteen unlockable sex-scenes featuring forced exhibitionism and public shaming.
Section Two: Implementation
Completing levels unlocks sex-scenes.
Section Three: Interactivity
The sex-scenes are linear, visual-novel sequences with skippable dialogue.
Section Four: Quality
The artwork and dialogue are solid! I wish Ruri’s vagina wasn’t just a slit, but everything felt premium. Small details, such as curled toes and dripping discharge are ridiculously hot.
Since the previous game, Ruri has seemingly lost some of her reservations; she doesn’t try to cover her breasts or genitals as vehemently. Considering this game takes place well after the first, it makes sense — but I appreciate how she tries to maintain her last shred of dignity.
Chapter Four: Story (2/5★)
Section One: Plot
The story picks up where Naked Story left off.
A nutshell, Ruri lost a bet and was forced to walk the streets naked. At some point, she was spotted by Sachi and Naoko, a pair of troublemakers who were all too happy to extract pay back on the girl that got them suspended.
“Afterwards, Saci and Naoko also put her through days of public nudity. . .”
Naked Story (Sports Festival Ver) is a detailed account of one of those “days of public nudity”, taking place on “the day of the Sports festival” where all of the students in the university will participate comes along. [sic]”
Worth mentioning, unlike Naked Story this game does not feature any additional “endings”.
Section One: Characters
Without playing through the introductory sequence in Naked Story, the characters are difficult to relate to. Fortunately, Naked Story (Sports Festival Ver) provides a quick recap on the events of the first game, but it’s really important to play Naked Story beforehand to get a feel of the cast.
Chapter Five: Sound (2/5★)
Section One: Soundtrack
The music is the same as Naked Story, so I put a stop to it right away!
I couldn’t bare to listen to the same tracks on repeat.
Section Two: Sound Effects
The sound effects are pleasant and non-intrusive.
Section Three: Voice Acting
I don’t understand Japanese, so I can’t discuss the quality of voice acting — but Ruri is fully voiced! It’s fun hearing her protest, but like the last game I wish her classmates were voiced too.
Chapter Six: Visuals (3/5★)
Section One: User-interface
I love how tiles light up when hovering over them. This visual effect effect helped my visualized perimeters of known, safe tiles.
I’m not sure what’s up with the brick texturing on the user-interface — maybe it’s supposed to represent the brick wall of a school building? The icons look premade but overall the game is pleasant to see and interact with.
Section Two: Graphics
The backgrounds appear to be a blend of digitized photography and hand-drawn details. Compared to fully handmade offerings, they aren’t as high-quality, but they work. I didn’t notice irregularities until I looked closely.
Chapter Seven: Verdict (3/5★)
I don’t understand why this game strayed so far from Naked Story, despite being a continuation of the story; the previous game is sort of deck building game, and this one is a Mindsweeper clone.
If you genuinely enjoy Mindsweeper (or if you’re willing to give it a try), this is a solid game with fun visuals and niche sexual content. Otherwise, I wouldn’t bother with this title if you’re disinterested in the gameplay. There is no “skip” button, and rounds of Mindsweeper are difficult to complete without a solid foundation on the core mechanics.
But I wouldn’t learn Mindsweeper any other way!
Chapter Eight: Recommendations
Add a wider selection of music.
